James I. Batchelor 85, of Colville, passed away September 8, 2015, in his sleep at home. He was born June 10, 1930 in Richmond, IN to Irvin Ruby Batchelor and Anna Frances Myers. He had eleven brothers and sisters. He graduated from Richmond H.S. He was one of the first children to graduate in his family. He married Bette Jean Cullen on February 5, 1954 at Methodist Church of Elizabethtown, KY. They were blessed with 4 children: Dennis, Michael, James, and Jeannie. While in the U.S. Army, James did tours of post WWII, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star in Vietnam. After retiring from the Army, he worked for the State of Washington and retired as Special Projects Manager in Olympia. Hobbies included traveling and sharing with others. James traveled to 23 countries and every U.S. state. He was a member of Lacey Baptist Chapel (30+ years) and First Baptist of Colville. He dedicated 20+ years working with children in Awanas and raised many foster children. He was a fun-loving, kind, generous man of God.
