In August of 1837, James Alexander deeded 7 1/2 acres to John McBride, James Russell and George, Henry, Gabriel and Michael Kinzer as Trustees for the construction of a church meeting house and cemetery, the first edifice for the Mt. Nebo Methodist Episcopal Church, South, having subsequently been dedicated in 1837. In consideration of his involvement in its formation, his residency and the number of his children and descendants buried in the churchyard, its seems fairly probable that he and his second wife, at least, have lost or unmarked graves. Polly, it should be noted, died just prior to the dedication of the grounds for a cemetery. Documentation and/or comments welcome.
