There is a tradition among some of the Hart County Jaggers that their first ancestor in this country is “Old Jerry Jaggers”. The New England Jaggers are descended form a Jerry Jaggers who came over in 1630. He followed the seafaring trades and died while on a trip to the Bahamas. He had operated a shipping business out of South Hampton, Long Island.

Daniel Jaggers Senior was born in Chester, South Carolina in 1754. Daniel moved to Kentucky in 1806. He was married to Hester Hitchcock. Daniel Senior died on November 16, 1807.
The siblings of Daniel Jaggers Senior were:
·Jean was born on 1728. She died in 1796 in Chester County, South Carolina.
·John married to Elizabeth Hitchcock. He died in 1804 in South Carolina.
·Jeremiah was born circa 1745 in Craven County, South Carolina. He was married to Nancy Ceberry on April 13, 1790. Jeremiah served in the Revolutionary War. He died in Madison County, Alabama on January 25, 1832.
·Nathan was married to Patty Sealy. Nathan 1759 served in the Revolutionary War. He died in 1840 in White County, Illinois. Nathan b: 1759 was a brother to our Daniel b: 1753
·Hannah was married to Thomas Garrett.
·Martha was married to a Mr. Strange.
Daniel Jaggers and Hester Hitchcock who was the daughter of Ester and John Hitchcock had the following children:
·Sely.
·Jeremiah was born on July 17, 1779. He was married on March 20, 1808 in Hardin County to Sarah West whose father was James West. Jeremiah died on September 20, 1854.
·Martha was born on January 5, 1782. She was married to John Henry Easters in 1804. Martha died on July 11, 1849.
·Daniel Jr. was born on October 03, 1783. He died on April 29, 1830 in Madison County, Missouri. He was married to Martha Jaggers.
·Hannah was born in 1784 in Chester, South Carolina. She was married to John Dancey.
·William was born in 1787. He was married to Elizabeth. William died in 1869 in Maury, Tennessee.
·Nathan was born in 1787. He was married to Sarah Atterberry on April 19, 1808 in Hardin County, Kentucky. Nathan died in Hart County in 1867. Sarah was the daughter of Thomas and Laurency Atterberry.
·Levi was born in December 1795. He was married to Ava (Isabelia) West on March 04, 1813. Levi died on April 29, 1861 in Hart County, Kentucky.
·Simeon was born in 1790/1800 in Chester, South Carolina. Simeon was married on April 12, 1836 to Katherine J. Houston.
·Nancy (Naomi) was born in 1798. She was married to David Nelson in Maury, Tennessee on June 01, 1814. She died in 1866 in Maury, Tennessee.
·Mary (Polly) was born on December 09, 1800 in Chester County, South Carolina. She was married to John McBride on March 11, 1818 in Maury, Tennessee. Polly died on April 14, 1836 in Maury, Tennessee.
Nathan Jaggers was married to Sarah Atterberry in Hart County in 1808. Sarah was possibly born in Berlin, Germany.

·Elis L. was born on October 07, 1813. (Elis was a Baptist Preacher.)

·Laurine (Lurancy) was born in 1824. She was married to Nathan Green Waddle. Lurancy died in 1862.
·Levi M. was born in 1825. He was married 1st to Ruthy Emeline Tharp and 2nd to Sarah Jane Tharp.
·Michael was born in 1829. He died on May 23, 1853 of the measles. (Michael was a shoemaker.)
·Ellen Letitia was born in 1829.
·Lorenza was born in 1831. He was married to a Ms. Mary C. Vance on November 30, 1854.
·Edwin Columbus was born in 1833. He was married to Louisa J. Polly on November 03, 1858.
