Born to Willie Henry and Lizzie Frances Baldwin Holley at Wapanucka. She attended Bromide Schools and moved to the Ada area in 1951. Mrs. Herring was employed as a waitress at Hamburger King and Bob’s Barbeque. She later owned and operated Broadway Beauty Shop and then was co-owner of Ada Cab Company for 35 years. She was the first female cab driver in Ada. She was then employed as a dispatcher for Call-A-Ride Transportation in Ada. Mrs. Herring was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church where she taught an adult Sunday School class. She and Lloyd Isom were married Oct. 15, 1939. She later married Johnnie Lee Herring Nov. 17, 1957. He died in 1987.
