It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Sandra Saylors Belva Cox, age 82 of Oil Trough, Arkansas on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Orlando, Florida. She was born October 18, 1932 at Oil Trough, Arkansas to John and Myrtle Trotter Saylors.

She taught American Government and World History at Newport High School from 1966 until her retirement in 1983. She was a life-long member of the Oil Trough Church of Christ, served on the City Council of Oil Trough, and was the Director of the Oil Trough Senior Citizen Center for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Charles Raymond Belva, second husband Norman John Cox, two brothers Patches Franks and Thad Franks, two sisters Catherine Pittman and Gene Blanchett; and one granddaughter Kristy Dill.

Survivors include one daughter Jonna Wooldridge and her husband Jerry “Pud” of Orlando, FL; two sons Charles Belva and his wife Denise of Cape May, NJ and David Belva and his wife Beatrice of Woodbridge, VA; one step-son John Cox and his wife Marty of Jacksonville, Arkansas; one step-daughter Martha Haslam and her husband Steve, of Homosassa, FL. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Erin Black, Karla Membreno, Sherah Campbell, Paul Belva, Melissa Browning, Adam Belva, Bradley Cox, Wesley Cox, Chad Haslam, Ryan Haslam, along with twelve great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home, Monday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Oil Trough Church of Christ with interment following in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
