Born on January 20, 1961 at Carroll, Iowa, Kevin was the son of Theodore Jr. and Natheal (Bierl) Meiners. Kevin was raised on a farm northeast of Dedham, where he loved nature and all animals. His passion while growing up was to someday become a Conservation Officer or Naturalist working with wildlife and habitat, but due to health reasons made a different career choice. He attended Dedham-Willey Grade School and later graduated from Kuemper Catholic School in 1979.

Following high school Kevin attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, graduating in 1981 from the Graphic Arts Department where he learned the many areas of the printing industry. Following his graduation, Kevin worked for Sklenar Publishing Company, Nishna Valley Tribune Newspaper in Audubon, Iowa. His duties included photography, darkroom, delivering the printed newspapers to surrounding towns as well as commercial printing in the shop. In 1985, Kevin moved to Carroll and started working for the former Carroll Copy Center in Carroll as a pressman. In 1987 he started employment with Stone Printing in Carroll with duties including darkroom, offset printing, letterpress, prepress, and supervision of the printing operation. As his health declined due to Cystic Fibrosis in December of 2013, Kevin decided it was time to retire and keep his health in order.

He enjoyed and thought very highly of his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He always enjoyed playing cards and spending quality time during the holidays with his family.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, trapping and exploring the countryside. Fishing was another hobby Kevin enjoyed throughout his life; spending may hours on the Middle Raccoon River, farm ponds, creeks, Black Hawk Lake and Swan Lake.

When weather wasn’t cooperating to be outdoors, he could be found working on his Diecast Toy Oliver Collection. His father and uncle had Oliver tractors on the farm while Kevin was growing up which grew an interest for his collection of the tractors. He spent many days and weekends making custom scale tractors, grain trucks and wagons.

In his passing, Kevin gave the gift of sight through his donation of his eyes to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank.

Kevin is survived by his father, Theodore Meiners Jr. of Carroll; his siblings: Ken Meiners and friend Retta Williams of Carroll, Joleen (Leo) Kasparbauer of Carroll, and Glenn (Cindy) Kerkhoff of Glidden; his nephews and nieces: Jason Williams of Carroll, Gena (Jamie) Daly of Boone, Brenda Kasparbauer of Grimes, and Greg Kasparbauer of Carroll; as well as other extended relatives and many friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother; his sisters: Linda, Karen, Annabelle, Donna and Brenda Meiners and nephew Cameron Kerkhoff.
