Ernest R. "Sam" Otto, 61, of 265 West Algoma street, passed away this morning at 6:15 o'clock at the residence. He had been seriously ill for the past week. Mr. Otto was born Feb. 27, 1883, in Germany, came to Oshkosh in 1885, and had lived here since. He was a retired millman and had worked for the former R. McMillen Company for 40 years. He was a member of the Oshkosh aerie of Eagles, a past president of the Fidelity Life, a past president of the former Carpenters and Joiners Local and a member of the Woodworkers' Union.

On July 22, 1903, in Oshkosh, he married Minnie Heinzl, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John Stamborski and Mrs. Clarence Krause, both of Oshkosh; two sons, Edward and Roy, also of this city; three brothers, Edward, Chicago, Arthur, Rock Island [Illinois], and Herbert, Oshkosh; three sisters, Mrs. Louis Rickard, Mrs. William Johnston and Mrs. John Holdren, all of this city.

The remains have been taken to the Fiss & Bills funeral home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
