She grew up in the Weston and Wahoo area. After attending District 98 at Weston and graduating from St. Wenceslaus Catholic School she stayed home to help her parents on the family farm south of Wahoo.
Agnes married Albert Kavan Jan. 2, 1947 at Wahoo, NE, he died June 25, 2009. The couple moved to a farm northwest of Colon, NE and lived there for over 65 years before coming to Fremont in 2012. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs, NE and the PCCW at church. She also was former 4-H leader, served on the election board, fair board and worked for Midwest Marketing for 5 years after they retired from farming. She was a fulltime farm wife and mother. The couple loved dancing and the many friends they met at dances. They also traveled extensively including Saipan, Indonesia, Italy, Czech Republic and Nome, Alaska.
Survivors include: son, Albert Lee Kavan and wife Barb of Cedar Bluffs, NE; daughters, Algene Mueller and husband Dan of Fremont and Kathleen Kavan of Bali, Indonesia; sister, Dorothy Kavan of Lincoln, NE; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Mary Ann Johnson; brothers, Rudy and George Ludvik and an infant brother; and son-in-law, Edward Brabec.
Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM, Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colon, NE. Fr. Leo Seiker will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Thursday and a rosary at 7 PM all at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colon. Burial will be 1 PM Friday at Holy Rosary Cemetery at rural Colon, NE.
