Ida Bell Church Mott was born in Bureau County, Illinois in the year 1865 and passed away at Kewanee, Illinois October 3, 1950 at the age of 85 years. In 1888 she was united in marriage to Joseph Oscar Mott who preceded her in death. To this union were born nine children two of who preceded her in death, an infant girl and George, a World War Veteran who was killed in an auto accident in 1928. Left to mourn her passing are Robert of Wisconsin, Asle of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Blanch Schulz of Hooppole, Illinois, Mrs. Lester Larimer of Storm Lake, Mildred Walker, Haines City, Florida, Ben of Abernathy, Missouri and Mrs. James Lindsey of Newell. Mrs. Mott came to Newell in 1910 and located on the farm south of town where she lived until her health failed. She attended the Methodist Church and belonged to the Ladies Aid. In 1945 being no longer able to live alone she moved to the home of her daughter Mrs. Blanch Schulz where she lived until her death. Services were held at the Methodist Church and final resting place was in the Newell Cemetery.
