My grandmother (Fannie) often spoke of how she missed her family in Missouri when they moved here. She wanted Otto to take her back. My Dad (Glen) and his sister Ruby were born on the homestead in the house that Otto built. Years later when Dad and Mom were married they lived in that same log house and all of the children (Gwen, Georgie, Delmar and Margie were raised there during our younger years. When the homestead was sold we all moved to Huntley, Montana.
Fannie told me, Ronald, after moveing out to the ranch she went a year and haft with out seeing another woman. Lloyd was so scared he ran and hid under the bed. Fannie told me they lived 30 miles west of Jordan and Ot would take the horses and wagon into town and she stayed home and took care of the farm animals, he would be gone for two to three days.
Fanny was noted for her quilts and had Ot make her a frame that was attached to the ceiling in the living room. When she wanted to work on a quilt she just pulled it down. The neighbor ladies would come over to her house and help her make the quilts. They were always making quilts, someone always needed a quilt. When a quilt would become worn out they wouldn't throw them away Fanny would make a new cover for them.
