Services for Rafael Gandara Soto of Temple Texas were held Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was 93 years of age and was the son of Edmenegildo Gandara Berumin and Maria Soto.
He was a police officer; a security officer and owned and operated a bar in Mexico. He worked on numerous ranches in Texas; was employed by Texas Hydraulics; and retired from Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital.
Rafael was preceded in death by his wife, Felipa Gandara; two sons, Rosalio Gandara and Fermin Gandara, three daughters, Hermelinda Gandara, Raquel Silva and Evarista Gandara; two grand-children, and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include two sons, six daughters, one brother, four sisters, 19 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren.
