Mr. Helie, husband of Geraldine (Sills) Helie, died Thursday morning, September 30, at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was born July 4, 1921, in Watertown, son of the late Camille J. and Evelia (Boisvert) Helie, and lived in Waterbury for 56 years. He founded Watertown Auto Parts in 1968 and operated it until retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Roaring 20s Auto Club and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Robert E. Helie, Jr., of Wolcott and David Helie of Waterbury; a sister, Mrs. George (Madeline) Aubrie of Waterbury; and three grandchildren.
