In 1910 she and her parents and four siblings lived on a farm they owned, mortgage free, in the Glasgow School District in Valley County, MT. Florence worked as a clerk in the courthouse, and Lydia as a clerk for a coal merchant.

In 1920 she and her husband and their two children lived in a house they owned, with a mortgage, on Vilios Avenue in Mercer Island, WA. Herbert worked as a barber in a barber shop.

In 1930 she and Herbert and their three children lived in a house they owned at 333 Seventh Street South in Kirkland, WA. Their home was valued at $2700, and they did have a radio. Her husband worked as a barber in a barber shop.
