Norman Richard Smith was born in Susquehanna, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania on January 31, 1931; he was the son of the late Louisa A Coon Smith Connelly (1895-1974) and John Earl Smith (1887-1956) and brother of the late brothers, Jessie Smith (1925-), Ernest Loren Smith (1920-2000), and Daniel Joe Lee (1925-) and sisters, Catherine Mae Smith Harvey Seaver (1922-2013) and Iola June Smith Schad Dawn (1927-2010).

Norman was a loving and devoted husband to Evelyn M Corey Smith (1927-2013) and father of sons, Richard Corey and Norman Smith and daughters, Maxine Corey and Maureen Kuna.

He was blessed with grandchildren, Tammy, Shelly, Casey, Dan, Ricky, Bob, and Denise; great-grandchildren, Seth, Rylee, Jacob, Chelsy, Nick, Sarah, and Emily and great-great-grandchild, Aden.

His life accomplishments included lead Designer and Lead Engineer at Singer Link Aviation Corp. Kirkwood New York. Vice president and co-owner of Matco Inc. and President and owner of RD&D Automation.

He was an accomplished musician who loved to entertain with any of the following Instruments: Electric Guitar - one of the best lead guitar players in the triple cities, but he also played Acoustic guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Accordion, keyboards, Piano, Harp, harmonica. He was also named KOA Music Man and was known up and down the East Coast in various KOA's.

Norman was also an accomplished evangelist known around his home town of Binghamton New York; welcoming friends, neighbors, and acquaintances into their home and spiritual family. He was known for telling story after story of days gone by, personal experiences, and testimony for our LORD Jesus Christ and GOD our Father. He was an author of a number of articles providing a way of proving scripture with science. None of these were published; however, one of his documents was received at the Vatican -- (disclosure - hand delivered and left near the library by his son while on vacation).Through his music, his stories, or his unique style of evangelism via testimony, The Music Man Norman Smith touched many lives.

His departure on November 18, 2014 in Binghamton, Broome County, New York will leave a void that cannot be replenished. He was loved, and will be missed by many.
