Fred Sheeler, 79, lifelong resident of the Tool's Chapel community east of Monroe died Sunday at the Collins Hospital in Knoxville.
Mr. Sheeler suffered several strokes recently.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm Tuesday at the Crumpacker Funeral Home in Monroe.
The Rev. Orin Young, minister of the Monroe Methodist Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Monroe cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Beyer, Bert Menenega,Joe Williamson, Floyd Stine, Jake Rozendaal and Warren Van Wyk.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Rosa May; and two brothers, Harry and Frank.
Mr. Sheeler is survived by two brothers, George of Sheldon and Ralph of Tool's Chapel community; and two sisters, Bessie Sheeler and Algie Sheeler of the Tool's Chapel community.
The son of Mary Rigoulot and Francis M. Sheeler, he was born November 28, 1881 on the Sheeler farm east of Monroe.
He attended rural school at Valley View and spent his entire life on the home farm where he farmed until sickness prevented his working last year.
