Revolutionary War Veteran. Born at Flowerdew Hundred Virginia, he served as a mate of the Hazard in the Virginia Colonial Navy during the American Revolution. He was later the Captain of the merchant ship Albatross. He is the only known Revolutionary War veteran buried in the State of California.
