Early Life: Brian was born to Bruce James and LouRee McGill in Ogden Utah. He grew up in West Jordan, Utah, graduating from West Jordan High School in 1989. As a child, Brian grew up loving the outdoors. He spent hours fishing the rivers and streams and exploring the vast wilderness surrounding his grandparents' cabin in the High Uintas. He was a straight A student and his mom’s best helper. He was his younger siblings’ protector, teacher and friend.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Brian married his high school sweetheart, Kimberlee Madsen McGill, of West Jordan. They have four wonderful sons; Jason (Mary), and their daughter, Sophia, of Payson; Josh (Jori), of Provo; and Riley and Brennan, of Spanish Fork. Brian could hardly wait until his boys were old enough to hike to Amethyst and Ostler Peak. It was on these high mountain peaks that he instilled in his boys a love of all things outdoors. He spent hours golfing, riding his bike, running, training for ragnars, triathlons, and even an ironman. Whatever Brian started, he accomplished. He has a drive to succeed, to perfect and to compete. In addition, Brian and Kim built their dream home together in the river bottoms of Spanish Fork in 2005, with Brian doing the majority of the work himself. He was a master craftsman. As a paramedic for Gold Cross Ambulance, Brian provided 25 years of caring and compassionate service to hundreds of patients. He is remembered by all those he worked with as one who would do anything for someone else. He took the hardest calls, showed the greatest patience and wisdom, and always had a joke or two to lighten a heavy moment. Brian owned and operated Mr. Brushworks Painting. Known as a perfectionist, Brian always delivered the highest quality service to his customers. Beyond happy customers, Brian’s employees loved him. He was more than a boss, he cared about the success of each employee. On Monday, September 28, 2015, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Brian Bruce McGill, passed away peacefully in his sleep.
