VERNON PLUMMER, 95, of South Shore, Kentucky died Saturday September 26, 2015 at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

He was born October 10, 1919 in Greenup, Kentucky, a son of the late Ben Plummer and Betsy Howard Plummer.

He was retired from C&O Railroad, a graduate of McKell High School and was a member of the Unity Full Gospel Fellowship Church in New Boston, Ohio. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II.

Vernon was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Boyles Plummer; one son Larry Plummer; three sisters, Virginia Ratcliff, Edna Vallance and Gladys Burgess; four brothers, Russell, Raymond, Denver and Delmar Plummer.

Survivors include his wife, Leona Euton Plummer; daughter-in-law Marilyn Plummer of South Shore and step-daughter, Linda (Gary) Keller of Lucasville, Ohio. step-sons, Larry Euton of Wheelersburg, Ohio and Terry Euton of Columbus, Ohio. 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law Opal Plummer of Greenup, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday September 29, 2015 at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Jack Howard and Richard Stiles officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, Kentucky with military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 1 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
