Mrs. Henry Burridge Dies at Home Here
Mrs. Prudence Buridge, 82, widow of the late Henry C. Burridge died Monday evening at her home on Dymond road after a long illness with a heart ailment.
Mrs. Burridge was born Prudence Williams in Gloucestershire, England in 1860. In 1886 she married Henry C. Burridge and came with him to Canada where they lived for ten years and then came to Lake Forest. For the past 34 years she has made her home in Libertyville.
In her younger days she was active in the work of the Episcopal church and, with her husband, was among the founders of the church of the Holy Spirit in Lake Forest. A few years later she helped organize St. Lawrence’s church here. She attended the first services held in both churches.
She is survived by two sons, George and John of Libertyville and a daughter, Mrs. Irving Hook of Grayslake. Beside her husband, one son, Urban, preceded her in death.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon at St. Lawrence’s church with in interment in Lakeside.
