Timothy Ray Rodriguez had a beautiful, soft singing voice and often sang Gospel hymns in the choir at Sunday services. On July 19, 2015, Timmy went home to Heaven to sing in the greatest choir of all.

Born on August 7, 1962 in Denver, Colorado, Timmy moved to Sacramento in 1971. He attended Luther Burbank High School and joined the U.S. Army Infantry in 1980. He was honorably discharged in 1986. He worked for many years as a cabinet maker. He sang with the choir at Grace Temple Christian Center for many years.

Timmy is survived by his wife of 18 years, Amada Rodriguez and his step-daughters Veronica Ridge, Teresa Hernandez and Victoria Fierro, and son-in-law Sonny Fierro. Survivors also include brothers Troy Rodriguez of New York and Jeff Rodriguez of Chicago and numerous nephews and nieces and many beloved grandchildren, including Gabriella, Chris Jr., Alycia, Athena, Katrina, Greg Jr., Dallas, Isaiah and Marcelina. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Chavez and sister Cindy Johnston.

We will remember Timmy Poo as a kind, funny, loving gentle soul. He struggled with various ailments for many years, including a debilitating injury at a construction job. He adored his grandchildren and most of all he loved singing at various family gatherings. He will forever sing in our hearts.

Services are scheduled for Friday, July 24, 10:00 a.m., at Grace Temple Christian Center, 4040 49th Avenue, Sacramento Ca. 95823. Pastor Wiley Rowe. Please no flowers, as a military burial will be held at a later date at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
