Brother of John Zevenbergen
Julius Zevenbergen died at the Hull Hospital, Saturday evening, April 24, at the age of 87 years. He had been in good health until a few weeks ago when he was taken to the hospital for an emergency operation, from which he never recovered.
Mr. Zevenbergen was born in The Netherlands, where he was married to Miss Adrianna De Zeeuw.
They came to America and lived in the vicinity of Middleburg until 1914 when the family moved near Ocheyedan. On March 28, 1925, Mrs. Zevenbergen died.
When he was 70 he came to Sioux Center to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Neal De Wit.
Surviving are the ten children: John of Sibley, Peter of LeMars, Johanna (Mrs. Neal De Wit) of Sioux Center, Arie of Ocheyedan, Luke of Worthington,, Minn., Ike of Ashton, Agnes (Mrs. Tunis Bras) of Harris, Iowa, Edith (Mrs. Case Smith) of Ocheyedan and Gerrit of Sibley.
He is also survived by 47 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, a brother in the Netherlands and a brother at Orange City.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the First Ref. Church, with Rev. Versteeg officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Ocheyedan.
