Mr. Reyes died Sept. 22, 2015. He was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Waco to Andres and Flora M. Reyes.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all of his family.
He worked for Sears 33½ years, including the position of assistant manager in Brownsville. After retiring from Sears, he was employed by Dillards Inc. for 16 years and then retired again. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1946 and served as Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator, and District Deputy in Brownsville. He was a past member of Rotary International and St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church.
Mr. Reyes is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Antonia; his sisters, Sara Reyes, Elisa Rodriquez, Beatrice Olivarez and Juanita Lemos; and grandsons, Phillip and Isaac Reyes.
Survivors include his son, Ruben (Luz) Reyes of Lake Jackson; two daughters, Marie (Stephen) Caruso of Harker Heights and Veronica Nieto of Brownsville; brothers, Joe Reyes of San Antonio and Andrew Reyes of McAllen; sisters, Carmen Hernandez of Antioch, Calif., and Flora Mendoza of Waco; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
