CONNELLY SPRINGS Brenda Kaye Walsh Chambers, 65, of Connelly Springs, went home to the Lord Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Brenda was born Aug. 12, 1950, in Lenoir to James V. and Juanita Lefevers Walsh and lived in the area her entire life.
Brenda married William Chambers on Nov. 2, 1978, and together they raised two children. She worked in the customer service department for Sprint and retired in 1999. Brenda was a member of Winklers Grove Baptist Church and also the Knobbies Motorcycle Club.
Brenda is survived by her husband, William Chambers of Connelly Springs; children, William Lee Chambers Jr. and wife, Angie of Granite Falls and Julie Chambers Byrd and husband, Andrew of Hickory; mother, Juanita Walsh of Lenoir; sister, Nancy Walsh Smith and husband, Gerald of Rutherford College; grandchildren, Garrett Neil Byrd and Ansley Mae Byrd, both of Hickory; niece, Connie Franklin and husband, Doug; and great-nephew, Andrew Franklin of Lenoir.
She was preceded in death by her father, James V. Walsh. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. at Winklers Grove Baptist Church in Hickory, with Pastor Dale Faulkenbury officiating. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the church.
Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Brenda's name to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association. The Chambers family is under the care of Catawba Funeral Home.
