Laura was born on June 22 1965 in Minas Gerais Brazil, daughter of Antonio and Josefa Jardim. She immigrated to the United States in 1988 and attended the University of Maryland where she received a Bachelors degree in Accounting. Laura worked for several major accounting houses in the metropolitan Washington DC area. Her last position was as senior accountant at Strathmore Hall in Bethesda. Laura is survived by her husband Arthur and two children Catherine and Patrick as well as her sister Ana who resides in Washington DC and her mother and 9 siblings in Brazil.
