Carmelo senior was the second child of Alessandro Spiritoso and María Giuseppa D'Ambrosio, native of Italy.

As to a census for the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, year 1895, Carmelo senior, bachelor, aged 25 and *Florinda Nova, nee Arozena, widow, aged 29, had 2 children before he got married with Myra Gilmore: Carmelo junior (b. 1890) and Florinda junior (b. 1893)

On May 20, 1902, Carmelo senior, got married, aged 33 years, with Myra Gilmore, aged 19, native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, being as a witness: Juan B. Torres, aged 35 years, native of Argentina and residing at Lobos.

This couple had the following children: Alfredo Pedro, Anibal Severo, Arturo Alberto, Rosa married to Héctor Tártaro, Julio, Oscar and Roberto.

His siblings were: Antonia, Marcelo/Marzio, Maria Antonia, Maria Josefa, Saverio (Saberio), Maria Francisca, Emilia Antonia and Marcelo.

He died of uraemic coma, about 52 years of age and was buried at the private family vault.

*Note: Florinda, born December 16, 1859, was a daughter of Bernardo Arozena and Maria Errequartte. She married Francisco Novo and had the following children by this marriage: Juana, Francisco, Angela and Maria Elena Novo. She had 13 years of marriage and 7 children
