Viola Wilson, 93, of Pleasant Plains, died on August 12, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center.

Viola was born on August 7, 1915 in Springfield, the daughter of Francisco and Rose Ruggerio Moscardelli. She married Thomas D. Wilson on March 21, 1932 in Springfield.

Preceding Viola in death were her parents; her husband; and her daughter Viola "Sis" Mendenhall, and one granddaughter, Doreen Wilson.

She is survived by three sons, Thomas "Sonny" (wife, Joy) Wilson of Niantic, Donald Wilson of Buckeye, AZ, and John Wilson of Pleasant Plains; three daughters, Elsie "Toots" (husband, Joe) McElyea of Niantic, Frances Wilson of Dover, DE and Jenny (husband, Mike) McCarty of Lander, WY; twenty-two grandchildren, Carole Smith, Dave McElyea, Keith McElyea, Cindy Cleaver, Lindy Wilson, Tom Wilson III, Mike Wilson, Patricia Hinds, Myron Mendenhall, Russ Mendenhall, Diana Beaty, Ken Mendenhall, Becky Leach, Kevin Mendenhall, Tanya Wilson, Donald Wilson Jr., Daniel Wilson, Star "Nicki" Wilson, Collin Kensy, Ronald Edward Proctor, Joyce Proctor, and Ronda Ramsey; thirty-two great grandchildren; twenty-three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL.

Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following visitation.

A Memorial Ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
