EDDY, David M, 87, of Louisville, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 in the caring hands of Hosparus at Norton Hospital with his dear friend Gordie Miles at his side. David was born on July 1, 1928 in Hartford, CT, the oldest son of C. Manton and Margaret Kale Eddy. He graduated Cum Laude from Princeton University in 1950 having majored in English. He was an avid writer and participated in theater productions while in college. After serving two years in communications in the US Army in California, David settled in NY City pursuing his interest in writing with jobs at NBC Chimes, an employee magazine, and the Metropolitan Museum among others. During this time he continued with his passion for the arts and wrote the song lyrics for an off Broadway musical called"The Athenian Touch". In addition, he worked for over twenty years with the Presbyterian Church (from which he retired) which eventually moved its headquarters from New York to Louisville, where his mother and maternal grandparents had lived. David loved animals and was also an avid gardener, which was reflected in both his homes in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn as well as beautiful Old Louisville where he left behind many wonderful friends and neighbors. David is survived by his brother, William (Joan) Eddy, of Simsbury, CT, his nephews, Stephen (Terri) Eddy of Scarborough, ME, David (Gina) Eddy of Simsbury, CT, Niece Lisa (John) Donnelly of Rye, NY, grandnieces and nephews, Ryan, Shannon, Jack, Jaime, Kaitlyn, Connor, and Sarah and an aunt Janet Gravelec of Naples, FL, and cousins Robert (Barbara) Eddy of Waterford, CT, Carol (Chuck) Malitz of Fort Worth, TX. Visitation will be Monday, September 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road "in St. Matthews". A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cave Hill Cemetery.
