Aaron Bergstrom came to Hermansville, Michigan in 1891. In the spring of 1892 he came to Bark River & bought four 40-acre parcels of land on East Road. He then returned to Sister Bay, Wisconsin with his wife and two children, Carl and Gerda. Charles Bergstrom (Aaron's brother) and his family returned to Bark River with him. He bought two 40-acre parcels adjacent to Aaron's. Charles farmed and did carpentry.
