George Clayton Haugh, the youngest of five born to William & Mary Clayton Haugh from Carlisle, England, was born in Berlin(Kitchener), Waterloo county, Upper Canada. According to the 1861 census, which was taken in March 1861, young George was 2 years old. This would make his year of birth 1859. Somewhere along the years, his exact year of birth and age was incorrectly recorded.
George grew up and married his spouse in the Thamesville, Kent County, Ontario area. Between the time he married (1884, Kent Co.) and the time he is found living in Windsor, he spent building a home and lumber business in downtown Windsor.
His son , John Orville Haugh, grew up, married, and had his family in Windsor, ON. Orville and his spouse, Edith Belle Spain, raised two sons and two daughters in the Windsor area.
