A native of Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Cox, Sr. and Jessie (Christopher) Cox.
A retired employee of Daniel Construction Company, he was a U.S. Coast Guard WWII Veteran, a member of Victorian Hills Community Church, a 50 year life member of Reidville Masonic Lodge #102, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Hejaz Shrine Temple.
Surviving are his wife, June (Leonard) Cox of the home; one son, Franklin M. Cox (Vicki) of Greer; one brother, Maurice A. Cox of Easley; two grandchildren, Maleah Cobb (Bobby) and Derek Cox (Angie) and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cox was predeceased by two sons, Ronald Eugene Cox and Christopher Brian Cox and one brother, Sydney L. Cox.
Graveside services were held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Wood Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Roger Greene with Masonic Rites.
Visitation was held after the service at the gravesite.
The family extended special thanks to SC Hospice and Palliative Care.
