Pamela Layne Miles

BRIGHAM CITY - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Pamela Layne Miles, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on March 20, 1941 in Lewiston, Utah, a daughter of Howard and Eva Orchard Layne.
Pam graduated from North Cache High School in 1959. She attended Henagers Business College in Ogden, Utah.
She married Gilbert Bockmeyer on March 17, 1962, in Lewiston, Utah. From this union they had three children, Tracie, Tyler, and Krista. Gilbert and Pam were later divorced, but still remain as friends. Pam married Farrell LaVoy Miles on July 14, 1989 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Joining their families together has been one of the greatest blessings.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She dedicated her life to serving others. Her life could be defined as one of giving and unconditional love. She had served as Primary President, Relief Society Secretary and Stake Missionary. She was an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple for ten years and one year at the Brigham City Temple.
Pam enjoyed quilting and genealogy. Her favorite pastime was being the best Grandma EVER!!!
The family would like to thank the doctors and caring staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be sent to the Huntsman Cancer Institute or the LDS Perpetual Care Fund in Pamela Miles name.
Surviving is her husband, Farrell; seven children: Tracie (Dru) Thornley; Tyler (Lynette) Bockmeyer; Krista (Ryan) Beutler; Matthew Miles; Jodi (Glenn) McFall; Susan (Larry) McCormick; Jennifer Wolber; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two siblings, Annette (Don) Peterson and Bart (Sondra) Layne.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son,[step-son] Randall Miles.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. the Brigham City LDS 23rd Ward Chapel, 620 North 300 East.
Viewings will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah and on Friday at the church from 10 to 10:40 a.m.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
