Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Bond were held on Thursday (today) at the Dorsey Funeral Home in Indianapolis with Rev. Paul Jasper conducting the rites. Burial was in San Pierre Cemetery, San Pierre, Indiana.
Mrs. Bond was born in San Pierre, Indiana, on May 1, 1892, the daughter of August and Amelia Kain and passed away at the Bartholomew County Hospital on Monday, August 14, after a prolonged illness. However, she had been active until taken ill on Saturday. Mrs. Bond had been a receptionist at the Brown County Art Gallery for several years and was a member of the Board of Directors. She was a member of the Nashville Christian Church.
She was married to Harry Hook who preceded her in death in 1925. She later married Joshua Bond of Nashville and has lived in Nashville for the past nineteen years. Mr. Bond died in 1963.
Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Georgia Taylor, Pittsburgh, one son, Arthur D. Hook, Gary, Indiana. Three sisters, Mrs. Martha Baker, Bloomington, Indiana, Miss Elizabeth Kain and Miss Helen Kain of San Pierre, Indiana. She also left four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One of her grandchildren, Mrs. Marilyn Weaver, passed away recently and was buried on Wednesday, August 16, in Peoria, Illinois.
