Mrs. Jane E. Ragsdale died at her home on East Madison street on Saturday morning at 2 o’clock, after a lingering illness of general debility. She had been a resident of this city for a number of years and had a large circle of friends. She was the widow of Rev. A. M. [Anderson Mitchell] Ragsdale of the Baptist church, who died some twenty years ago. She was the mother of seven children, of whom four, Jno. W., O.G., Edward W. and Sallie M., survive. The funeral took place from her late residence on Sunday morning and was largely attended, the services being conducted by Rev. P.O. Duncan.

MRS. JANE E. RAGSDALE
Mrs. Jane E. Ragsdale died at her home on east Adams street, early on Saturday morning. Her illness had been a long one and of a complication of diseases. The funeral took place on Sunday morning at the residence, conducted by Rev. P.O. Duncan.
Mrs. Ragsdale was born in Kentucky in 1821. She was married in 1841 to Rev. A. M. Ragsdale, a Baptist minister, who died in 1860. To them were born seven children, four of whom survive. These are Gardner, John W., Edward W. and Miss Sallie Ragsdale. Mrs. Ragsdale was an earnest Christian lady, and esteemed by all who knew her.
