At the age of 27 mother felt her lost condition and the need of a Savior, and upon true repentance and confession of her sins, she was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, by Min. Abr. G. Ensz, on Jan. 21, 1920.
On July 14, 1918 she was joined in marriage to me, Peter M. Toews, at Ste. Anne, Man. Canada, where we resided for nearly two years. In April 1920 we moved to a farm near Inman, Kansas. This union was blessed with two sons and three daughters.
For 56 years we shared joys and sorrows of married life. Mother was a faithful companion to me, and a loving mother to our children. We will greatly miss her, but we believe she is at rest with Jesus. In her extended ways of pain, and suffering, she often called upon the Lord for strength and comfort, expressing her faith and confidence in Him.
Those who mourn her loving memory, are her sorrowing husband, P. M. Toews; two sons Dick and Frieda Toews; Henry and Bernice Toews, both of Hillsboro, Kansas; three daughters: Marie and John Isaac, Inman, Kansas; Kathryn and Claude Penner, Ste. Anne, Man.; and Helen of Inman, Kansas; 23 grandchildren and one great grandchild; four brothers: George, Herman, Henry and John; one sister: Mrs. I. K. Friesen, all of Inman, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held on March 18, in the Zion Church, where Min. Abe Nikkel and Min. Arvid Ensz were in charge. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery.
