Katherine (Kathy) Yvonne (Kaiser) Maney, 61, of Smithville, was born in Giddings, Texas on June, 11, 1954 to Edgar Roland Kaiser and Clara Hattie (Biehle) Kaiser. She was baptized on June 27, 1954 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington by Rev. Paul Stengel and confirmed on May 5, 1968 also at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. John Seimglusz. Her confirmation verse was John 8:31 & 32, “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Kathy was united in marriage to Mike C. Maney on May 10, 1975 at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. Robert Hartfield. She owned Maney Insurance Agency for many years. She loved going to the family ranch and spending time with her granddaughters and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar & Clara Kaiser; an infant brother, Charles; and in-laws, Billie Mike and Vivian Maney.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 40 years Mike Maney of Smithville; one daughter and son-in-law, Kari and Curtis Brawley of La Grange; two granddaughters, Kylin and Kyndal Brawley of La Grange; one brother, Curtis Kaiser of Smithville; one sister Karen and husband Edward Hoelscher of Lexington; one brother-in-law Jay and wife Tracey Maney of Kerrville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services for are scheduled at All Faiths of the Pines Funeral Home in Smithville with Gordon (Bubba) Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held with the family present at All Faiths of the Pines Funeral Home.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Edward Hoelscher, Ronnie Pietsch, Brad Hurta, Lynn Frerich, Mark Saunders and Vince Kaiser.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Marks Medical Center in La Grange, TX, Hospice Brazos Valley of La Grange, TX or Colorado River Cowboy Church of Smithville, TX.
