Clara Hattie (Biehle) Kaiser, 88, of Lexington, was born in Fedor, Texas on January 31, 1926 to Albert Erich Biehle Sr. and Amanda Mae (Poston) Biehle. She was baptized on February 28, 1926 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington by Rev. Edward Steyer and confirmed on June 1, 1941 also at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. George Kautz. Her confirmation verse was Revelations 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me".

Clara was united in marriage to Edgar Roland Kaiser on September 5, 1944 at St. James Lutheran by Rev. H.F. Hellman. She had worked at the Lexington Mercantile, Blue Moon Quick Stop, served as a dorm parent at the Austin State School and retired as a cafeteria worker with the Lexington Independent School District. She was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington and enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and taking care of the flowers in her yard.

Clara passed away during the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Amanda Biehle; her husband of 60 years, Edgar Kaiser; her infant son, Charles; two sisters, Ruby Foerster and Amanda Rodgers and four brothers, Theodore "T.J." Biehle, Herbert Biehle, Albert Biehle Jr. and Douglas Biehle.

Clara is survived by her son, Curtis Kaiser of Smithville; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy & Mike Maney of Smithville and Karen & Edward Hoelscher of Lexington; six grandchildren, Kari Brawley & her husband, Curtis of La Grange, Brittany Shelly & her husband, Nick of Bastrop, Katie Hoelscher of Waco, Vincent Kaiser & his wife, Kelly of Bastrop, Galen Kaiser & his wife, Crystal of Smithville and Wesley Kaiser of Bastrop; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Tennie Crim of Caldwell; five sisters-in-law, Bonnie Biehle of Edna, Della Mae Lerche of Lexington, Marilyn Biehle of Lexington, Sharon Biehle of Dime Box and Betty Peck of Missouri as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services for are scheduled at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington with Rev. Carl Roth officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Lexington.
