Edward William Jarrell, 89, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at his home. He was born July 22, 1915, in West Virginia to the late Chris and Cordilia Hodge Jarrell. He was a former Pentecostal Minister. He worked most all of his life in West Virginia where he was instrumental in getting coal mines and the Unions started. He retired from Ranger Fuel Corporation where he worked as a coal miner. He moved to Fulton four years ago from Almeagles, West Va.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Rickey Pierce officiating. Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Mary Catherine Lyle Jarrell of Fulton; two daughters, Sandra Sue Huniker and Charlotte Austin, both of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, George Jarrell of Alabama; one sister, Lollian Corni of Oklahoma; five step-children, Allen Prestage and Angela Roberts, both of Fulton, Mary Collier of Florida, Johnny Prestage of Louisiana, Wanda Johnson of Mississippi; one half-brother, Teddy Jarrell of Texas; two half-sisters, Marbra Butler and Yvonne Holston, both of West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bea Jarrell and Lyzzie Jarrell; two brothers, Bud and Charlie Jarrell; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Allen Prestage, Billy Bowling, Anthony Bowling, Billy Goines, Eddie Williams and Robert Tyra.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
