Son of John Brooks and Josephine Margaret (née McKeever) Brooks, of Templeogue, Co. Dublin.


64 Squadron flew Spitfires and Mustangs as fighter support for long-range bombers enroute to German targets.

His plane malfunctioned when over Antwerp, and he was seen to descend apparently in control.
He is presumed to have crashed and died, since his body was never recovered.
