He was a broadcasting pioneer in San Diego where he helped to launch the CBS affiliate TV station, Channel 8. He was the Manager Of Engineering at KFMB AM/FM Radio, and TV, and worked there for over 30 years.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Bee, in Dec. 1998. Survivors include his son, Chuck; daughters, Marcia Prim and Donna Gray; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at the First Presbyterian Church, 320 Date St., San Diego 92101, where he was a member for over 60 years.
