Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Tirk, 92, widow of Elmer E. Tirk, former well-known Franklin resident, died at 8 am today in the Hastings Lane Nursing Home, West Medford, MA. She had been in ill health for a long time. Daughter of Abraham and Lydia Shaner Foringer, she was born in Franklin July 13, 1873.

She lived the greater part of her life in Franklin, having resided at 1409 Buffalo Street for many years. In 1955 she went to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Zell, in Oakmont. Three years later she moved to the Boston, MA, area where she had since resided. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was one of the oldest living members. She belonged to the Protected Home Circle and the Maccabees.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harry A. (Evelyn) Zell, Franklin; and Mrs. Bert R. (Marguerite) Adams, Somerville, MA;. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Foringer.
