A native of Austria, he had lived in the Oil City area for 52 years. He had been employed by the Oil City Boiler Works until its shut-down, after which he worked on his farm. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church.
Besides his wife Sophie, he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Gregor Eilers of Titusville, Mrs. Emerson Beals of Corry, Mrs. James Rogers of Rocky Grove, Mrs. Lyle Morrison, Mrs. Annette Vidsens and Mrs. Herbert Stein of Oil City; three sons, Michael, John and Joseph Stanish of Oil City; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one brother, Profir Stanish of Singac, N. J. A daughter, Mrs. Sophie Thomas of Oil City, died in 1952.
Friends may call at the home of Mrs. Lyle Morrison on Shaffer Run Road. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Church in Oil City and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
