She was born May 3, 1925, to Richard and Edwina Whitesides Knowlton. She was raised in Layton, and later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she raised her family.
She married Henry Louis Carlsruh in Albuquerque, New Mexico, October 13, 1945. They later divorced. She returned to Layton and married Donald Brooke in 1977. They later divorced.
Martha was an active, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held various callings throughout her lifetime. She served a mission in Manchester, England, in her later years. She also served as a temple worker in the Ogden Temple.
Martha was a voracious reader, enjoyed gardening, and was a “Master Grandma.”
She is survived by her children; James K. (Cindy) Carlsruh, Deborah (Jim) Endrizzi, Barbara (Brent) Tittensor, Abby Jane (Tom) House, Daniel K. (Eve) Carlsruh, 33 grandchildren, and over 80 great-grandchildren, brothers; Franklin Knowlton, Ute Knowlton.
Preceded in death by her daughter Emily Featherstone, sisters, Esther Graehl, Mary Christensen, and brother, Richard Knowlton.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
