Richard John Karwoski Jr. RN came into this world on December 23rd, 1964 in Kearny, New Jersey, the first of two children born to Marylee (Wilson) and Richard Karwoski Sr.
He passed suddenly in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from a heart attack on what was supposed to be just an overnight business trip. Richie and his family moved to Toms River, NJ in 1974 where he received his education. Rich proudly served in the Army as a Spec 4 from 1984 to 1990 achieving a Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Expert Field Medical Badge and was an M-16 Riffle Expert. While stationed at Ft. Lewis, in Tacoma, Washington, he received training in the medical field in the Madigan Army Hospital. Upon completing his tour with an Honorable Discharge, he furthered his medical career and became an RN working as an emergency nurse at Kimball Hospital in Lakewood, NJ for seven years. He received many letters from patients he treated thanking him for the kind and excellent care he had given them.
After he left Kimball, he went into clinical research becoming a Senior Clinical Project Manager with Abbott Laboratories, traveling to Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China and was instrumental in getting the approval for the rheumatoid arthritis drug HUMIRA. He also worked for Knoll Pharmaceutical Company and Theradex as a Clinical Research Associate. At the time of his passing, he was working at PRA Health Sciences as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
Never an unkind word was ever said about Rich, he always made friends where ever he went. His amazing personality and wit would turn any gray day into a sunny one.
He was a devoted Liverpool football fan and would be glued to the TV rooting for a victory whenever they played.
Leaving behind those to mourn and miss him beyond imagination, are his heartbroken mother Marylee (Wilson)Karwoski of Manchester, NJ, with whom he lived, his father Richard Karwoski Sr. and his wife Janice of Toms River, brother Timothy, and his wife Debra, and his nephew Jake Karwoski of Cherry Hill, NJ. Also, his Aunt/Godmother Judith DeFazio, Uncle/Godfather Robert Karwoski and his wife Andrea, Uncle Donald Wilson and his wife Jean, step siblings Casey Noll, his wife Kim and their daughter Kayla and Courtney Noll and her son Mason. He also leaves many cousins and friends.
Rich still had so much to accomplish and contribute to this world, that his leaving us is such a loss and a mystery, not only to his family, but to those he could have helped. The question is WHY? Why did he have to leave us so soon? Why is such a good person gone?
