Obituary—Mrs. Harley Veach

Ella Lenora Barnthouse was born in Centerville, Iowa, Dec. 22, 1872, died Sept. 5, 1912, at the age of 39 years, 8 months, and 13 days. July 10, 1893, she was married to Harley Veach and to this union were born six children, three of whom have preceded their mother to the great eternity. Dorthy May, an infant girl, Vernal Van, a boy, who died at eighteen months. Guy Civille, died in 1908 at the age of 14 years. George Luther, a boy sixteen years of age, who was on their ranch at Bristol, Colo, at the time of his mother's death. Keith, a boy of seven and Viola Alucia, a girl of four remain to mourn the untimely death of their mother. Besides the three children, she leaves a fond and loving husband, Harley Veach, her father and mother, G. L. Barnthouse and wife of Centervllle, three brothers and two sisters, of whom two brothers, Lloyd and Thomas and one sister, Mrs. Bessie Lampson, live in Centerville, a brother, Porter, of Marshalltown, and a sister, Mrs. Lulu Mannon, of Chillicothe, Mo., and a host of friends and relatives remain to mourn her
untimely demise.

To know her was to love her. She was a kind and loving mother and wife and a faithful friend.

Although she had been a sufferer for many months from a nervous breakdown and heart trouble she was not considered to be in a dangerous condition and her sudden death was a great shock and was very unexpected.

Early in life she united with the Methodist church and at the time of her death was a conscientious member of that faith.

Funeral services were conducted at the First M. E. church at 9 o'clock Sunday Sept 8, after which the remains were laid to rest in the family lot in Oakland cemetery beside those of her children who have gone before.
