George Franklin "Frank" Barnett, 73, of Middlesboro, KY (Hutch) passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015. He was born December 12, 1941 in Middlesboro, KY to the late Arville and Nellie (Middleton) Barnett. He and his oldest son opened their own business, Shillala Garage in 1979 in the Hutch Community. He retired in 2005 but continued to work around his farm and the garage doing what he loved. He enjoyed farming and helping out in the community. His enjoyment came from his farm, taking care of his animals, fencing, and being with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: J.C., Ted, J.R. and Jack Barnett; and one sister, Ellamae Robbins.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty (Saylor) Barnett; 3 sons: Rick & Kay of Hutch, Tim & Kim of Speedwell, TN, Kevin & Traci of Middlesboro and one daughter, Melissa & Peewee Barnett of Hutch; seven grandchildren: Austin, Devin, Blake, Derek, Riley, Bethany, and Kinley Barnett; and one great-granddaughter, Millie Barnett; two brothers: Alva Barnett of West VA, and Ben Barnett of Hutch; two sisters: Ulanda Keeler of Gordansville, TN and Anita Barnes of Watertown, TN, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David King, and Rev. David Gibbons officiating. Music will be provided by Nicole Mike. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Austin, Devin, Blake and Derek and son-in-law, PeeWee Barnett. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews: Benjamin Barnett, Alva II Barnett, Josh Barnett, and friend, Mikey Hoskins. Graveside service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Barnett Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
