BARNETT, JACK, 75, Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Bell County, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital of Cincinnati. Born Sept. 21, 1926, in Bell County, he was the son of the late Arville Mason Barnett and Eliza Poore Barnett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo Barnett; and five brothers. Survivors include his three daughters; Violet Barnett, Cincinnati, Jackie Shropshire, Ripley, Ohio, and Kimberly Barnett of Erlanger, Ky.; two sons-in-law, Tony Shropshire of Ripley, and John Grossman of Erlanger; stepmother, Nellie Barnett, Middlesboro; three brothers, Frank Barnett, Middlesboro, Ben Barnett, Middlesboro, and Alva Barnett, Scaroboro, W.Va.; three sisters, Ella Mae Robbins, Middlesboro, Ulanda Keeler, Gordonsville, Tenn., and Anita Barnes, Watertown, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Eric Paul Shropshire of Ripley, Kimberly Shawnte Shorpshire of Ripley, and Shelby Grossman of Erlanger; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shumate Funeral Home with the Rev. Jess Roark presiding. Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Barnett, Tom Barnett, Kevin Barnett, Austin Barnett, Pee Wee Barnett, and Chris Denkins. Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Shumate Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
