CLINTON - Nancy Jean Hebert Abbott, 67, passed away at Glenridge Nursing Home in Augusta. She found peace after battling Alzheimer's for over 12 years. She was born on Nov. 8, 1947, in Caribou, the daughter of Fern and Louis Hebert.

Nancy graduated Lawrence High School in 1966 and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for more than 25 years.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents and brother, Robert Hebert. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kenneth Abbott; son Mark Abbott, daughter-in-law Gail; and grandsons Nathan and Benjamin of Winslow. She also leaves behind sisters Dureel Poulin of Fairhaven, Mass., Patricia Tarascio of Stratford, Conn., Lois Lemlin of Georgia, Dorothy Hebert of Benton, and Debbie Radley and husband John of Stratford, Conn.; mother-in-law Helen Morse; and sister-in-law Geraldine Dixon, both of Clinton, sister-in-law Ruth Hebert of Georgia, brother-in-law Merle Abbott and wife Sandy of Hancock; and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at a later date at the Veteran's Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
