Bessie Most
GILTNER Bessie Viola Most, 88, of Giltner died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Giltner. The Rev. Craig Doty will officiate. Burial will be in the Giltner Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
Arrangements are by Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.
Mrs. Most was born Dec. 5, 1915, on a farm near Giltner to Willliam P. and Estella M. (Fish) Townsley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, on May 21, 1976.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Angela Most of Giltner, and three daughters and a son-in-law, June Hill of Giltner, Janet and Jim VanWormer of Aurora, and Janice "Jody" Most of Giltner.
Those who remain to cherish her memory also include 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Bessie attended country school and graduated from the 8th grade. She was a housewife all her life as well as helping her husband, who was the custodian of the Giltner Public Schools for 19 years.
Bessie was united in marriage to Leonard Frank Most Feb. 15, 1934, in Aurora.
Bessie was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Giltner. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Altar Society, the GGG Club, and the Greenwood Club. She was
an honorary member of the Giltner Booster Club.
Bessie enjoyed family get-togethers, gardening, playing cards, western films, and western audiotapes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Leonard Jr.; two infant sisters, Blanche and Violet; five brothers, Glen, Wayne, Raymond, Denver and Merwyn; and a granddaughter, JoAnna Hill Bush.
