Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Annie Nations

Mrs. Annie Nations member of a well known family of this section, died Saturday night at eight o’clock at the home of her son, Alvin Nations, near Monticello after an illness of about a month. Mrs. Nations was eighty-seven.

After funeral service at the home, Mrs. Nations was buried in the Masonic cemetery in Monticello Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Nations, the widow of the late Henry Nations, was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Annie Lee of Monticello, owner and operator of the Watts Hotel here for many years. Mr. Nations died many years ago.

Mrs. Nations was born in Jefferson Davis county and had spent her life in the county and in Lincoln and Lawrence counties. She was a member of Green’s Creek Baptist church.

She leaves four sons; Alvin Nations and Andy Nations of Monticello Hollis Nations of Collins and Rich Nations of California and one daughter, Mrs. Jim Tyrone of Monticello with a number of grandchildren and other relatives.
