Funeral services for Albert Coker, 92, of Yantis will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at West Oaks Funeral Home with the Rev. Arlis Banks officiating.
Burial will follow in Yantis Cemetery with Tommy Massey, Max Massey, Frank Coker, L.J. Sells, Gene Hyde and Marcus Mooreland serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the funeral home.
Mr. Coker died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 19, 1913, in Yantis, the son of Thomas J. and Minnie Mae Nichols Coker.
He married Florene Finklea on June 23, 1940 in Yantis. She preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 2001.
Mr. Coker was a farmer. He attended White Oak and Alba schools. He was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Mark Coker and wife, Pam, of Yantis; his daughters, Norma McIllwain of Yantis and Beth Owens of Temple; a brother, Lester Coker of Emory; a sister, Lucille Davis of Yantis; five grandchildren, Cory Coker, Nathan Coker, Jason Owens, Kevin Owens and Luara Owens; and six great-grandchildren, Jenacee and Jaiden Owens, Lacey and Broc Huthings, and Garrett and Stephen Coker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twins Jessie and Bessie Coker and brother Odell Coker; and sisters Ester Massey, Myrtie Hyde, Gertie Nichols and Juanita Ferguson.
